The Art Of Monteque Organization was founded out of the creative energy of the independent arts. The very energy and inspiration which causes new ideas and discovery to emerge out of chaos. The world of the independent art is a world of trailblazers, inventors, free thinkers and explores. Where the imagination gives way to creativity and creativity gives way to thoughts and thoughts gives way to actions and actions give way to change. It is where artisans are the defenders and sentries of the truth. Destroying the cloak of falsehoods. Yet the community of the independent arts is often smaller with smaller support, showings, performances, media, productions, promotions, venues, distribution, and budgets than its counterpart the mainstream arts. This is why we use Steve Job’s “Here’s To The Crazy Ones” because you have to be a little bit crazy to know all factors that are against you and yet you still try to persevere. That is where we come in.
We are an independent art organization which was designed to showcase artisans and their expression. Featuring the arts in all its forms. We have three missions which are to invest in the creative potential of the community by developing support for individual artisans with a focus on creating a network which would help the artisan with their projects; thereby helping people and the community excel. By creating an organization that partners with individual artisans, we are able provide opportunities that one might not have. Also by developing a community of individual artisans helping each other with their projects we are able to arrange meetings, workshops, lectures performances, showings and support. We strive for excellence in what we do and hope to show what is possible when a group comes together for one propose. Second is to help create a community where at risk individuals and veterans are capable of extraordinary transformation though teaching, learning, and evolving though experience. Third is to foster and cultivate the next generation of artisans. Passing along to them the long lost old world techniques, tools and teaching craftsmanship for them to become great artisans of the future. By helping others we feel it can cause a ripple effect, which would help the community as a whole. While using the arts to create social change. Along with sowing the seeds of solutions through the transformative power of the arts.
Here is our mission statement, from our founder, Monteque Pope-Le Beau
“It was in 2008 when I decided that I must fulfill my mother’s, M. Elizabeth Pope, vision of helping other artisans. Slowly this vision is taking shape in the form of our multimedia website and organization; The Art Of Monteque, which is designed to help artisans showcase their talents and artistic expressions.
Our multimedia website features a magazine, an art gallery and a review, all designed to give each artisans the exposure they need without having to go through immense amounts of red tape. We feature work from all the arts, including performance, literary, visual and musical. If it’s one of the arts, we cover and support it! For example, Introduction to the Artist is where we introduce our audience to each of our featured artisans and their ideas with an emphasis on telling their story as honestly as possible.
We also cover film festivals and various artistic events, along with helping deserving artists raise funds by showcasing artisans and their project(s).
The Art Of Monteque Organization is but a drop in the bucket, a small stepping stone to something much bigger, as my vision is to one day form The Pope-Le Beau Artist’s Retreat dedicated to the sole purpose of encouraging and supporting artisans. I envision creating a place that is both inspirational and spiritual, where one can draw strength and inspiration to create wonderful works of art. By helping artisans create, develop, produce and then showcase their work, our artist’s retreat would not only help individual artisans, but their surrounding communities.
Ultimately, my vision is to show the unbelievable magnitude and power of the arts to create both personal and social change.
Please join us in supporting great artisans and the arts!
