There is no amount of words to express our deep sadness over the horrible tragedy which happen yesterday. The terrorist attacked on Charlie Hebdo marks another dark period in history for artists, freedom of speech, and the free press; but most importantly it marks a dark time for humanity. Yet in all this there are those who are willing to be the light and show the rest of us the way. In doing so they make themselves targets and sometime their light is blown out.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it. Voltaire
This is happing all over the world not just France, or Europe, but also the Middle East, Asia and the United States. Where ever there are those who do not want change nor to give up their power or control over others, you will find the tortured souls of humanity.
Prejudices are what fools use for reason. Voltaire
When artists, journalists and writers pick up their instruments of expression with the very first stroke always comes the enemies of freedom. With that first stroke war is often declared against those who have the courage to stand up and express themselves and their freedom. Because they hold in their hands the power to change and set free those who are bound in chains by injustice, fear, suffering and prejudice. Shining a light on the unseen and giving a voice to the voiceless. It is a power many fear; for those who fear it are the roots of destruction and tyranny. Showing nothing more then empty shells vying for power over another as light of truth come to rest upon them. Leading them to try to still the voice, but one can not still that which lives in all of us. What is it they fear so much? Is freedom and free will.
It is not sufficient to see and to know the beauty of a work. We must feel and be affected by it. Voltaire
The freedom to be ourselves, to speck up, to live the way we want, to believe in what we want, to love who we want, to think what we want, to be different and to create is at the core of who we are. There is no force on this earth which can change it. When ever one tries like the roots of a tree it will continue to grow and nurture all around it. Let us take this moment to stand in solidarity with those who can’t any more and let our voices be theirs. Let our voices be like a thunderous wave of change that lifts the darkness so the light can shine once more.
Injustice in the end produces independence. Voltaire
