Sundance Next

Independent artist and filmmakers have always been able to play to the music of their art form, while Sundance has always given them a place to speak to the music of their art. Whether you go to Park city, Utah for the Sundance Festival or Sundance London; you’ll find the same creative spark at play with Sundance Next. Sundance Next  gives a taste of the Sundance Festival with a California flavor. It is fresh  and new. In  it’s veins courses the the rebellious spirit that made Sundance so great and California, the it is state .  It is full of the artistic independent spirit which is alive with the voices of creativity.

Theatre At The Ace Hotel

Sundance Next was a four-day film Festival event  which was held in downtown Los Angeles. The venue, the Ace Hotel took  which one back to a bygone era where going to the cinema was an event. It was something to be savored it. The Next film Festival  was an event to be savored  and not be missed. From such great movies as “Napoleon dynamite”, “Imperial dreams”,  “Kumiko the Treasure hunter”, “Life after Beth”, “Listen up Philip”, “The guest” and finally “A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night”; each one of these films  was a wonderful delight and delicacy in this vast cauldron of creativity. Not to be outdone by the films  the  musical a complement  to the films was as equally a delight. With  “Imperial dreams”  was Tinashe, “Life after Beth” was Father John Mitsy,  and the wonderful combination of a “Girl Walks Home Alone At Night” and Warpaint.

The conversations with the filmmakers were both insightful and entertaining.  It was something that brought the audience closer to the dreams and insights of that creative spirit which makes independents so great.
